Sutton Vane Associates were commissioned to design the lighting of the exterior and interior of Bath Abbey. The strategy was written for all of the lighting. The lighting was made more flexible and more energy efficient.

The installation of the new lighting scheme took a number of years and was interwoven with various restoration projects.

The first part of the new lighting scheme, the refurbishment of the decorative pendant fittings, is now complete. These have been fitted with LED lights to provide warm and functional down lighting. Other LEDs concealed in the metal work uplight the decorative pendant fittings, creating attractive lit features.
