Sutton Vane Associates designed the lighting for around twenty five buildings in the Grainger Town area of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. In one unified design several complete streets of Neo Classical buildings were lit. The City Council is so pleased with the work that they have appointed Sutton Vane Associates to expand the scheme to include more buildings. High Friars Lane is very lively at night and has been lit in red and blue to reflect the night life. At midnight the coloured lighting (which complies with BS levels) automatically turns off and traditional lighting by wall mounted lanterns comes on. Facades of the most important streets in the Grainger Town area of Newcastle-upon- Tyne have also been lit by Sutton Vane Associates.
