Grainger Town Newcastle
Following the successful implantation of various heritage projects across the UK, Sutton Vane Associates were commissioned by the Grainger Town Partnership to develop detailed lighting proposals for the historic ‘heart’ of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. Over twenty five different buildings situated within the Grainger Town area of the city were lit. High Friars Lane has been illuminated in red and blue to reflect the lively night life. At midnight all the coloured lighting (which complies with the relevant BS levels) automatically turns off and traditional lighting by wall mounted lanterns is turned on.
Sutton Vane Associates designed the lighting for around twenty five buildings in the Grainger Town area of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. In one unified design several complete streets of Neo Classical buildings were lit. The City Council is so pleased with the work that they have appointed Sutton Vane Associates to expand the scheme to include more buildings. High Friars Lane is very lively at night and has been lit in red and blue to reflect the night life. At midnight the coloured lighting (which complies with BS levels) automatically turns off and traditional lighting by wall mounted lanterns comes on. Facades of the most important streets in the Grainger Town area of Newcastle-upon- Tyne have also been lit by Sutton Vane Associates.
