Hatch at Grand Union Studios
Sutton Vane Associates lit a permanent art installation in the lobby of a start-up business building in West London, designed by the artist Martin Richman. The piece, called Hatch, is made of small rectangles of dichroic acrylic suspended from a mirrored oval in the ceiling.
The 12M high by 5M wide installation was lit by various spotlights at different heights, making it glisten and sparkle. The piece also creates magical and colourful reflections on the lobby walls, adding further interest to the space.
Sutton Vane Associates also designed the general lighting for the building, which was carefully planned to ensure the installation rightfully remained the focal point of the space.
