Liverpool City Centre

Sutton Vane Associates wrote a strategy for the re-lighting of the centre of the city as part of the run up to the 2008 Capital of Culture programme. Sutton Vane Associates then carried out the detail design for around twenty listed buildings and structures including The Port of Liverpool Building, one of the famous “Three Graces” which face the River Mersey.

The building has been re-lit in a white light which shows the colour and the detailing of the stonework. No light fittings are visible at all so that visitors in the day time see the building without any lighting equipment cluttering up the facades of this important listed building.
