Llandaff Cathedral
All lighting aspects of the Cathedral were revisited. Sir Jacob Epstein's iconic sculpture "Christ in Majesty” was lit together with other dramatic features of the Cathedral. The original pendants were refurbished and reused as decorative elements. Lighting was designed for services and to highlight the architectural lines of the building.
A central control system was introduced so that the Cathedral could have ‘architectural’ lighting during visitor hours and ‘service’ lighting at times when the Cathedral or Chapels are in use. The control system can also give many other types of lighting for a range of different events in the Cathedral.
The project won a Lighting Design Award.
