Madejski Gardens The V&A
Sutton Vane Associates were commissioned to light the John Madejski Garden at the very heart of the V&A, which functions as a place for meeting, relaxing and entertaining. SVA lit newly designed planters that help create a tranquil backdrop to an otherwise bustling area.
Specially designed and robust spotlights were created to be discreetly hidden inside the planters, allowing the Japanese trees in each to be dramatically uplit, enhancing their textures and making them look almost otherworldly.
The trees also functioned as natural lamp posts, reflecting light out into the surrounding area, creating an inviting space.
SVA also advised on the lighting for the surrounding buildings, establishing a unified scheme throughout the garden.
